Pettibon Postural Correction

Pettibon is a series of protocols that were developed by Dr. Burl Pettibon in 1981, in Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Pettibon has been a chiropractic practitioner for 35 years before developing this radical system of permanent postural correction.

Dr. Pettibon was unrelenting in demanding that chiropractic deliver on its promise: provide health care that enables the human spine to maintain its optimal structure for normal function. In order to fulfill this demand it was necessary for him to think outside the standard box of chiropractic and normal medical and orthopedic protocols and discover new and effective treatments for individuals with scoliosis, carpal tunnel, sports injuries, personal injury accidents, ligament damage or instabilities, nerve impingements, disc problems, numbness and tingling in extremities (arms, legs, hands and feet). And through his experiences, trial and errors, the Pettibon Protocols for Postural Correction were born into existence.

Dr. Swink Asks some important questions of interest to Goleta residents - Chiropractor Goleta Dr. Swink Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
